OnePlus 5T Review: Best Specs For The Best Price?

So we're going to take a look at the OnePlus 5T today. This smartphone was released in mid November of 2017 and for its price, I would say that it's a great phone.

The OnePlus 5 was released earlier in the year and the OnePlus has come back with high-end specifications and a modern design overall. The OnePlus 5T has a metal body and includes a bunch of new features. This $500 phone has all the things an $800 phone does and let's take a look at what it has.

The OnePlus 5T has a 2160x1080 AMOLED screen which looks amazing and includes Android 7.1.1. On the bottom of the phone it has a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker. The speaker sound pretty good and it's loud and clear. Better than I expected.

On the back of the phone there is a fingerprint sensor and a dual lens camera. The main camera is 16MP and the second 20MP low light camera. There is also obviously a light on the back for taking pictures in dark areas or to simply use as a flashlight.

On the front of the phone where you will be spending most of your time is the 2160x1080 6.01 inch AMOLED display as mentioned before. In addition to that is the front 16MP camera.

Now let's take a look at what you have mainly been waiting for. The inside of the phone includes some pretty high-end specs. The CPU powering the system is the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. This is a powerful CPU especially for a phone. You have a choice with the amount of memory. You can either go with 6GB or 8GB.

The GPU inside the phone is the Adreno 540. You get a great choice for storage inside the phone. You can go with either 64GB or 128GB. With these options, it should be pretty hard to run out of storage. To finalize the inside of the phone, there is a 3300mAh battery included.

The OnePlus 5T includes a cool feature when it comes to charging. It comes with OnePlus' "Dash" charging. The heat that usually generates inside the phone is also duplicated in the power brick. This means that when you are using a "Dash" charger, the power management circuitry turns off. This then means that instead of the phone getting really hot during the charging process, the power brick will get hot. This allows the phone to charge better and it also helps if you're using the phone while it charges.

The only problems I really see about this phone is that it is not waterproof and has no expandable storage. Though i wouldn't see why you would need expandable storage when you have a choice a getting 128GB built into the phone.

All in all, the phone is cheap for what it includes. Usually with a phone like this, it would cost anything from $700-$900. In my opinion, it holds just as much or unarguably better power compared to the $1000 iPhone X. But that is just my opinion. Would I recommend this phone over anything else right now? Definitely. The only bad thing for me would be the fact that it isn't waterproof.

This phone is near perfect in my eyes. Maybe we'll get a perfect phone soon...
